Video gamers from all eras and locations are coming together to help raise money for the International Video Game Hall of Fame.
GameDay 2011 - Gamers Coming Together For a Common Cause will feature live streaming video broadcast and live events from multiple locations throughout the Memorial Day Weekend.
The website for the event will feature the ability to click and watch any one of the broadcasts during the event. Those wishing to donate money to help the International Video Game Hall of Fame can do so on the GameDay site via direct donation or purchase of a T-shirt.
Gamers from across North America and overseas are already scheduled to participate in the event. Several of the streaming broadcasts will feature world record gaming attempts, podcasts and auctions.
One hundred percent of donations will go to help the International Video Game Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preservation and celebration of the history and people of the video game industry. Four thousand people attended the organization's Big Bang 2010 event in August of last year. Earlier this week, the IVGHOF was forced to postpone the 2011 Big Bang event due to some outstanding debt from the 2010 event.
