Eden Eternal Launches Fundraiser to Save Alpaca Farm

Virtual Pet Food Proceeds Will Benefit Ailing Bay Area Herd

Aeria Games, a leading global publisher of micro transaction-based online games, today announced the launch of a week-long fundraiser to raise money for a struggling alpaca farm in northern California.  Starting July 1st, Eden Eternal, an online video game renowned for its unofficial alpaca mascot, will donate 100% of the proceeds from virtual pet food sales to support a herd of real-life alpacas.

The donation recipient, Sharon Hudson of Clements, Calif., adopted 50 alpacas earlier this year for what was supposed to be a two-month rescue effort.  Two months became six months, and the herd still remains under her compassionate care.  Unfortunately, Hudson can no longer afford to feed her beloved adoptees and is actively raising money to sustain them for another month while a new home is located.   

“I’ve done my best. Feeding them has cost me about $30 to $40 a day,” Hudson told CBS Sacramento.

The Eden Eternal team, located at Aeria Games’ Santa Clara, Calif. headquarters, about two hours southeast of Hudson’s farm, is jumping into action by dispatching their community of online alpaca fans to help save Hudson’s herd.  Virtual pet food in Eden Eternal feeds the game’s popular alpacas, which act as pets and transportation for players. For every $1 package of virtual pet food the game sells, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to feed Sheryl Hudson’s real life alpacas.
